The Institute of Economics will hold a seminar meeting as part of its Seminar Series on Wednesday,  June 16, 2021: Patrick Llerena from the University of Strasbourg will present the paper "Funding decisions in a multi-stage grant peer-review process: what about the determinants of selection?".

Abstract:

The authors analyse the main determinants of funding decisions for research projects, in a European context. They analyze the data extracted from application and review materials of a multi-disciplinary, pan-European research funding scheme - the European Collaborative Research (EUROCORES) Scheme - for the period of 2002-2010. Through an empirical investigation on three consecutive stages of the grant evaluation process at the team-level, they will focus - in particular - on the role of gender and of industrial engagement in affecting funding decisions.
